I’ve been a big fan of 1Password for many years now.
It’s the ubiquitous tool that I carry on my iPhone, it’s installed on my iPad and of course on my work Mac.
Others in our team at The DMA also use 1Password in much the same way and this is why today’s release of version 4.5 is such a big deal. The OS X version has supported multiple vaults for a while now but now the iOS version also supports multiple vaults.
Our setup is that we each have a primary vault for our personal data. Now in addition to this we have created a vault for our client work. When we have WordPress logins, Google logins etc.. for our projects they all are now stored in a separate vault and this can now be synced via Dropbox.
In total the setup was about 6 minutes, so it’s very easy to do!
Working on the internet, I don’t know how people cope without a tool to manage passwords – if you’re interested in changing your ways, it’s a good time because there’s a sale on now for 1Password. Australian users $10.99 and US users $8.99 gets you the iOS version. You do have to buy the OS X version separately.
