After only 1 day using the new version of OS X (Mavericks) all is going well, so far I’ve only upgraded my Macbook Pro – leaving the Mac Pro server for another time. Just came across a funny thing, if you use Apple Mail and connect to Gmail you might be looking for the same answer.
Where did my Archive Mail folder go?
After trying almost every eMail system known to man, these days I keep it simple. Show me my Inbox and then when I’m done, I’ll archive it into the All mail folder. Gmail calls this folder “Archive” and as I learnt today it’s not your normal IMAP setup.
After updating to Mavericks I was using Apple Mail and couldn’t find in my folder list the archive folder – once you look at the screenshot below you’ll laugh at me as it’s right there. But that’s not where it was before!
It seems that the new version of Mail knows that it’s connected to Gmail and now shows you your archive folder below the top level folders, Inbox, Drafts etc..
So if you can’t find it for looking (like me – seriously took me 15 minutes playing with IMAP and all the other things it could have been) – it’s right there 🙂
