Every once in a while, I go into my iTunes library and check to make sure that all of my album art is updated for the albums that I have in the library. I know this is probably something that is starting to slowly fade, with more and more people buying their music from places like iTunes and Amazon. But for one reason or another there are those times when you put your CD onto iTunes and your album artwork doesn’t show up for that particular album. No worries, I have a couple of easy, free solutions for you. Let me show them to you.
The easiest way is to let iTunes search for you. Over the years, iTunes has gotten a lot better at being able to provide accurate album artwork, but there are still times when you need to manually get the artwork yourself. When you are looking to do this click on a song in the album, then right click. A menu will then pop up. Scroll down till you see “Get Album Artwork.” If Apple has the artwork, then it will automatically insert into the album for you.
Amazon Album Art Widget
So if the previous solution doesn’t work, then I have another solution for you. There is a widget that is free that you can also try. It is from the widgetFoundry and it is called the Amazon Album Art Widget. You can download and install the widget on your Mac then use it to find your album artwork. This widget will search the Amazon database for your album. You can either type in the artist or the album. If there are multiple suggestions, you can pick the one that you need. For example, I typed in Mat Kearney and he has a bunch of albums, so you can select the album artwork for the album you need.
If you still are stuck and can’t find what you need, there is a pay option. An app called CoverScout has a pretty wide database of albums to search from and does a few more things than the previous solutions do. The cost is $29.95. So there you go, I hope this helps you find all the album artwork that you need.
