There are an enormous amount of apps in the App Store. And with the addition of the iPad apps, it is inevitable that at some point you will buy the wrong app. For example, I wanted to purchase the iPhone version of something, but I accidentally purchased the iPad version. That’s what happens when you don’t have patience sometimes. But, no fear, as I had found a way to return the app. This post will be about showing you how to do this. Word of caution, though. This is not for returning apps that you don’t like or don’t live up to your expectations. Also, this will not work all the time. I cannot guarantee that this will work 100% of the time. I can only go off of my own experience.
The first thing you are going to want to do is log into your account on iTunes.
Then you are going to want to go into your account and hit the “Purchase History” Button.
Here you will find a history of everything that you have bought on iTunes. You are then going to want to search for the app that you want to return. Then hit the “Report a Problem” button.
After you hit the button, you will then have to click on “Report a Problem” link next to the app that you are wanting to return. You will then be taken to a screen where you will write why you are returning the app.
Then hit “Submit”. And you are done. Now you wait. Apple usually gets back to you within 24-48 hours as to whether or not they are going to refund you the money for the app. And that is it. Again, I cannot claim to say this works all the time. But it has worked a couple of times for me, when I purchased the wrong app. It is best to be as explicit as possible in your explanation as to why you are wanting to return the app. Also, this won’t work if you just don’t like the app. I hope this works for you and good luck.
