When I first got my Magic Mouse last Christmas, I was skeptical if I would like it or not. But after playing with it for a while, I realized how much I loved it and what the hype was all about. I will spare you my reasonings, but, you can feel free to read my review here.
As I started to play with my Magic Mouse more and more, I kept thinking to myself, the sky is really the limit when it came to using the Magic Mouse and the gestures that I could possibly do on this thing. Then on Twitter, I would come across a post here and there about how people loved using MagicPrefs for their Magic Mouse. So my curiosity got the best of me and I had to go and take a look at it and see what it was all about.
In a nutshell, MagicPrefs make your Magic Mouse even better than what it currently is, if you can believe that. It adds more gestures and different clicks to help you get the most out of your mouse. Let me show you around the app.
The first thing you need to do is go and download the app here. After you install it you are going to want to go into your System Preferences to set up your MagicPrefs.
When you open up MagicPrefs, it can seem a little overwhelming at first. But the main thing you have to realize is that MagicPrefs can enhance mainly three parts of your Magic Mouse. The first being your finger clicks, the second being swiping, the third being dragging and pinching. Basically MagicPrefs can enhance and enable a variety of these gestures to your Magic Mouse to help you maximize the mouse.
When you are setting up your mouse you can click on a tab to configure how you want to use each type of gesture. There are a variety of choices and different combinations to use that you will have to play around with it to see what gestures really work best for you. For example, you can do a four finger click and your mac can take a picture. Or you can do a two finger tap and you can start a tweet. The choices and possibilities are almost endless.
As you can see, MagicPrefs can definitely increase your productivity. In a nutshell it brings out the magic in your Magic Mouse. Personally, I think Apple needs to go and buy this guy out so he can help add MagicPrefs to the trackpad on Macbooks and the Magic Trackpad. By the way, forgot to mention that the app is a free download, no strings attached. What a steal, if you ask me! So what are you waiting for, go get it and start customizing your Magic Mouse to help make you more productive.
