If you’re a web developer, a marketer or even the owner of a web site, from time to time you need to get a screen shot of your web site.
Yes there are a couple of ways to get screen shots in Mac OS X but they are just that – “screen shots”. You will only get, in the resulting image, what you can see on the screen – which is not always the best possible solution.
I was looking for a solution to this problem a while back and a friend on twitter happily pointed me toward a little known application called Paparazzi.
Take a look at the image to the right. It has been reduced in size so that it fits here but you can see what I mean. It’s the full page view of the web page.
The controls of Paparazzi are very straight forward, allowing you to enter the URL, choose the output size, set a delay in taking the screen shot if required then saving the file. That’s all there is to it.
It does not look like it’s being actively developed anymore but it does really all it needs to do in its current form.
Paparazzi is a universal application so works well on current version of Mac OSX. Download it from http://derailer.org/paparazzi/
The image below shows the main (well the only screen really) screen of Paparazzi.
