Tomorrow morning in Australia the iPad is finally released. One of the first things you’ll want to do is get your hands on some cool iPad apps that really show off the new device. Sure the web browsing, mail and photos apps are all cool, but when you’re showing if off to your friends over the weekend you want something impressive.
I have the answer for you, one word with a triple letter score – Scrabble!
(Sorry for the bad scrabble joke)
Ok so the big screen of the iPad makes a great game of scrabble, but that’s not what is going to impress your mates. It’s the integration with iPhone and iPod Touch. The iPad becomes the central board if you like for the game, but wirelessly your iPhone /iPod Touch is then used to hold the scrabble tiles and it works very well.
On your iPhone you select the letters you want to use, flick them toward the top of the phone and they appear on the iPad screen, ready for you to organise them into that double word point scoring masterpiece.
As players take their turn, the iPad remember the orientation of where you are sitting and flips the board around to you (how many games have been destroyed in the past by moving the board?) all the while you’ve got music playing out of the iPad to keep everyone occupied.
So there’s my tip, $12.99 in the iTunes store, grab you iPhone and you’re off for a vocabulary expanding weekend of showing off your latest Apple toy!
